Welcome to the Rock Albums of 1972. This site is a little research project I have undertaken to find out what the music was like in the year of my birth, 1972.

I intend to try and listen to every album that was around in the year 1972, and review them here. Of course, how one judges whether an album is from 1972 could be the subject for some debate, given the fact that release dates around the world can be staggered, and that some albums don't get popular for a while after release and yada yada yada....

So there will be no hard and fast rules as to what a 1972 Album is. Obviously I am not going to be reviewing Sgt Peppers, but near enough to being released in 1972 will generally be good enough.

Further, I will be using the wikipedia article below as a reference point, but this will be in no way the definitive. I reserve the right to add albums to that list.

I will give each review a star rating out of 5, and each review will be based on at least 4 listens to each album. I am a firm believer in the principle that you can never spot a masterpiece one one experience.
